Comann Nam Pàrant - Inbhir Nis

Tha àite no dhà fhathast ri fhaighinn air a' bhùth-obrach do phàrantan Disathairne. 'S ann mu dheidhinn goireasan is stuthan a tha am bùth-obrach is bidh taisbeanadh ann mun làrach-lìn aig BBC Alba. Tha sinn an dòchas cuideachd gum bi leabhraichean Gàidhlig rin ceannach ann.   Bidh am bùth-obrach a' gabhail àite eadar 10 agus 12 Disathairne anns an Rùm Coimhearsnachd, BSGI agus tha cùram-chloinne ri fhaighinn ma tha sin a dhìth oirbh.  Leig fios thugam cho luath sa ghabhas ma tha sibh son dol ann.

There are one or two places still available for the Comann nam Pàrant Parental workshop this Saturday which is about resources for families with children in Gaelic medium and will inlcude a presentation on the BBC Alba website. We also hope to have Gaelic books available to purchase.
The workshop is from 10 til 12 in the Community Room at BSGI and there is childcare available if required.   Please let me know asap if you would like to attend the workshop and if childcare is required.

Bidh Brian O hEadhra a' dèanamh bùth-obrach eile air Ceòl is Òrain Ghàidhlig air 8 Ceitean. Cuideachd bidh bùth-obrach ùr againn air 12 Ògmhios. Bidh Iain Galloway, pàrant às a' Phloc a bhios a' ruith bùthan-obrach do phàrantan dha na comhairlean ionadail, a' bruidhinn air goireasan taic a th'ann do phàrantan - leabhraichean, geamannan, làrach-lìn, DVDan, CDROMs is eile. Àir an aon latha bidh Una NicDhòmhnaill againn a bhios ag obair aig BBCAlba is seallaidh ise dhuibh an làrach acasan agus mar a gheibh sibh am feum as fheàrr às. Tha sinn an dòchas cuideachd gum bi taghadh de leabhraichean Gàidhlig rin ceannach air 12 Ògmhios is Tia Thomson à Sgrìobhadh san Sgìre (iomairt eadar Comhairle na Gàidhealtachd is Comhairle nan Leabhraichean) gu bhith còmhla rinn. Mar sin, ma tha ùidh agaibh thighinn ann, nach cuir sibh foirm air ais thugainn cho luath sa ghabhas. Mòran taing dha na pàrantan a tha air tighinn dha na bùthan-obrach gu ruige seo. Tha iad air a bhith gu math soirbheachail. Tha sinn duilich dhan fheadhainn a bha clàraichte dhan bhùth-obrach air geamannan Gàidhlig a chaidh a chur dheth. Feuchaidh sinn ri seo a chumail a-rithist is cumaidh sinn fios ribh.

Unfortunately the parents workshop planned for this Saturday has been cancelled. We only found out at the start of the week that the person due to do the workshop was no longer able to. Attempts to find a replacement have been unsuccessful.  Please accept our apologies for this and for the short notice. There will be two further workshops this term which will be advertised through the school and on the website. I hope that you will be able to attend these and that you have enjoyed the series of workshops this far.

Gu math duilich an naidheachd mhuladach a chluinntinn mu Eachann Robasdan, duine socair, dìcheallach a bha ag obair le Comann nam Pàrant tron phroiseas gu bhith a' cur Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis air chois agus air bunait seasmhach.
Saddened to hear the news about Hector Robertson, a gentle, conscientious man, who worked with Comann nam Pàrant through the process of establishing Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis and bringing it to a secure platform for growth.

17th April. IF anyone has not registered for this workshop but would like to attend let me know. Creche space may be limited and you should contact Dolina Grant regarding this is you have not already booked the creche.

Bidh an ath bhùth-obrach againn ann Disathairne 6 Màrt, 10-12 am BSGI. Bidh Lena Walker às a' Bhun-sgoil ga ghabhail.
Bha sinn an dòchas gum biodh leabhraichean ann son ceannach aig a' bhùth-obrach seo ach gu mì-fhòrtanach chan urrainn do Tia Thomson bhith làthair. Tha i air aontachadh tighinn dhan ath bhùth-obrach againn air 17 Giblean.

Gaelic Primary School education set to expand in Inverness area (12/11/09) Support has been given for the expansion of two Inverness Primary schools to accommodate Gaelic education from The Highland Council’s Education, Culture and Sport Committee.

Members of the committee today (12 November) agreed that Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis be extended by two classrooms to meet emerging accommodation pressures. They also agreed that depending on the outcome of a statutory consultation on the provision of Gaelic Medium education at Glenurquhart Primary School in Drumnadrochit an outline business case would be produced for additional accommodation at the school.

Brian Hemming, Estates Strategy Manager, Education Culture & Sport, informed members that, based on the current school roll of 126 pupils at Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis that the anticipated roll projection for the new academic session in August 2010 will place accommodation pressures on the school.

He said: “The original design and specification of the school anticipated that the
it would be extended at some point and that such an extension could be accommodated with relative ease.”

Discussions with the Council’s Director of Finance and Depute Chief Executive will determine how the Bun-sgoil expansion can be progressed within the terms of the Council’s PPP2 contractual arrangements and its related best value funding options. These options will be presented to Members for consideration at the Education, Culture and Sport Committee in January 2010.

Members also agreed on the terms of a statutory consultation process to establish Gaelic Medium provision at Glenurquhart Primary school. The consultation procedure will include: parents and pupils affected and parents of pre-school pupils; Members of Parliament and Members of the Scottish Parliament; and the local Parent and Community Councils. The outcomes of the consultation will be reported to the Education, Culture and Sport Committee early in 2010.

Mr Hemming said: “If the statutory consultation proves a need for Gaelic Medium education in Dumnadrochit it will be necessary to identify suitable accommodation within or adjacent to Glenurquhart PS. The accommodation required is one classroom, one nursery room, ancillary accommodation and external play area for nursery children at an approximate cost of £500,000 for either extension or demountable unit.

He added: “On the basis that there is no funding for this project within the approved ECS Capital programme an outline business case will be produced in early 2010 for consideration within the corporate Capital review process.”
